To celebrate the 103rd anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, from June 29 to 30, 2024, the Party Committee of Sanbian Technology organized all its members to visit Zhoushan for a themed party day activity: “Rekindling Red Memories, Continuing the Struggle for Strength.”
On June 29, we arrived at Zhusan Park, a memorial park dedicated to the Dinghai Defense Battle of the Opium War in Zhejiang Province, which is a patriotic education base. Led by our guide, we walked through the towering and magnificent stone gate, our hearts filled with reverence, climbing the stone steps that snaked upwards. The first thing to catch our eyes was the phrase “Loyal and Valiant, Respected by All” in large characters. Continuing our ascent, the “Hundred Generals Inscription” stele forest appeared before the eyes of the party members, with the inscriptions from over 30 generals passionate and stirring, deeply impacting the members. As we reached the山顶 of the Opium War Memorial Hall, we were greeted by a full row of ancient weapons, with broadswords and red tassel spears still gleaming with the light of blood. Those cannons, encrusted with rust, bore the marks of continuous warfare. The precious historical photographs and the models of warships, weapons, flags, and uniforms used by both Chinese and British forces during the decades of conflict, as well as other physical artifacts, provided a detailed introduction to the resistance struggle of the Dinghai military and civilians. This couldn’t help but make us reflect: The old China was poor and backward, carved up and humiliated by foreign powers. Therefore, we must not forget the national humiliation, use history as a mirror, forge ahead with determination, strive for strength, and work hard for the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
Afterward, we visited the Zhoushan City Exhibition Hall. Upon entering the hall, we toured and learned about the general overview of urban development, gaining a comprehensive understanding of urban planning, city image, and urban culture. Standing in front of the Zhejiang Zhoushan Islands New Area sand table, the entire spatial development strategy plan of Zhoushan was laid out before us, leaving us in awe. This place is also an important venue for international exchanges and receiving visitors.
