Starting from February 15, 2025, amidst the busy work schedule, a series of meticulously arranged therapy and recreational activities in Chongqing and the Three Gorges were like a gentle breeze, dispersing the accumulated fatigue and leading us to this journey filled with surprises and beauty. The Party Committee Secretary and Chairman Xie Weishi sent off the group with earnest instructions, urging the team leaders to take good care of the group, the employees to follow directions, and to pay attention to travel safety. He also encouraged everyone to actively participate in suggesting improvements for the company during leisure time and wished everyone a pleasant journey!
This journey took us through the streets and alleys of Chongqing, where we experienced the city's unique cultural charm and relaxed both body and mind with beautiful scenery and delicious food. We traveled downstream along the Yangtze River, encountering the magnificent handiwork of nature and the profound historical and cultural heritage. With admiration and curiosity for the great national project, we witnessed the grandeur of the Three Gorges Dam.
Our first stop in Chongqing was the bustling Jiefangbei (Liberation Monument). As a landmark building of Chongqing, it is surrounded by towering skyscrapers, shopping malls, and stores. It is the busiest commercial center and a spiritual symbol for the people of Chongqing. Standing beneath the monument, we felt the city's rich historical heritage and vibrant modern atmosphere. As night fell, we visited Hongya Cave, which, when illuminated, resembles a dreamlike "Spirited Away" world. The multi-layered stilted houses cling to the mountainside, their lights reflecting on the Jialing River, creating a stunning view. We strolled along the stone-paved paths, admiring the ancient architecture and the brilliant night scenery.
On the second day, we visited the Bai Gongguan with reverence. This former prison for revolutionary martyrs is now a patriotic education base. The solemn atmosphere hit us as we entered. In the cramped and dark cells, we seemed to see the resolute gaze and indomitable spirit of the martyrs. After the visit, everyone felt particularly heavy-hearted, and a deep respect for the revolutionary predecessors arose spontaneously. In the afternoon, we arrived at the Ciqikou Ancient Town. The ancient streets, stone-paved roads, and traditional Bayu architecture made us feel as if we had traveled back in time. Ciqikou is filled with a strong sense of life, with various local snacks and handicrafts. At our last stop in Chongqing, we went to the Liziba Light Rail Station and witnessed the magical sight of the train passing through a building. As the light rail slowly entered the residential building, everyone was amazed by this unique design and recorded the moment with their phones.
Boarding the luxurious cruise ship, the river breeze caressed our faces, bringing the unique freshness and moisture of the river. As the ship slowly started, the sound of the engine and the gurgling of the river water intertwined, composing a beautiful travel symphony. Standing on the deck, looking at the wide river surface, where the water and sky seemed to meet, we felt as if we had become one with the vast Yangtze River. Our first stop on the river journey was the mysterious Xueyu Cave. The white, jade-like stalactites shimmered under the light, some resembling suspended swords, others like clusters of lingzhi mushrooms, and some like cascading waterfalls, all lifelike and breathtaking.
As the cruise ship continued, we arrived at the Qutang Gorge and the Wu Gorge. The majesty and danger of the Qutang Gorge amazed us. The high mountains on both sides, with steep cliffs, and the roaring river waters were awe-inspiring. The Wu Gorge, known for its beauty and depth, with misty peaks of various shapes, seemed like a scroll of landscape paintings unfolding before our eyes. Our second stop along the Yangtze River was the Shennu Stream, where we took small boats to explore the depths of the canyon. The clear stream water and lush vegetation on both banks created a delightful contrast. The local guide told us about the local customs, and the occasional chirping of birds in the canyon sounded like a beautiful melody played by nature.
Finally, we embarked on the journey to the Three Gorges Dam. When this world-renowned hydroelectric project came into view, I was deeply impressed. Standing on the observation platform, looking down at the entire dam, the massive concrete structure was solid and imposing, with each brick and stone bearing the weight of national construction and determination. Moving to the flood discharge area, although we missed the moment of the flood discharge, we could imagine the spectacular scene when the gates open and the surging river water bursts out with immense power. This is not only the clever use of natural forces but also a symbol of human wisdom and courage. Occasionally slowing down is to go further. This five-day therapy and recreational trip to Chongqing, the Three Gorges, and Yichang was a release of pressure, a recharge for the soul, and a new starting point for us to move forward together!
